Ishaq bin Hani said:
“I was eating with Imam Ahmad and some relatives. We started talking and Imam Ahmad was eating, we noticed that he was wiping his hand with his handkerchief after every bite and saying: ‘alhumdu lillahi wa bismillah’. He then he said to me: ‘eating and praising Allah is better than eating and staying silent.’”
